I WAS ONLY FOUR-YEARS-OLD: “The Psyche Of A Broken Sole”

I was only four years old when I first experienced harsh pain in my lower back. As a senior in college, I talked to my physician and found out I was a breech baby and was pulled out by my feet at birth. Having a cracked vertebra explains the major pain I experienced as a kid and daily throughout my life. The physician then described my cracked vertebra as a "Scottish dog" break because the x-ray resembled that of a Scottish dog. I want to express to my readers a vivid picture of the agony I felt as a four-year-old kid simply putting on my socks or trying to tie my shoes. I also want to share the tragic moment as a thirteen-year-old teenager when I broke my foot and the sole of my foot flipped over. This incident encouraged me to use the word sole in the title of this nonfiction saga... even though my soul was devastated by the traumatic event, the visual of my sole affected my psyche tremendously. Those two horrific incidents I experienced as a kid and young teenager caused me several mental issues and to contemplate things I thank God I never carried out. Although these devastating injuries made everyday life almost unbearable for me, they also were the driving force behind my dream to be an elite man, athlete, and NBA star. Although basketball gave me hope to live every day, I needed what the NBA provided to accommodate for the deficiencies and disabilities I'd encounter for the rest of my life. I want my audience to live this journey with me through the pain, trauma, sacrifices, greatness, failures, and rebounding to fulfill some of my childhood dreams via a different journey. After reading my novel COACH “The Mediator of Dreams and Destroyer of Generations”, so many of my readers wanted to know if and why I still had so much pain and animosity.I WAS ONLY FOUR-YEARS-OLD is my reason "why."
